Prelude
This music is performed for the wedding guests as they begin to
gather for the ceremony. It brings the families together for the
first time as they wait for the bride and groom, setting the mood
of the ceremony and for the rest of the day. Typically it lasts
from fifteen to twenty minutes, and flows smoothly into the music
for the Processional.
The time Allegra Strings begins to play the prelude is the start
of the contract.
Processional
This is the music performed as the wedding party makes their way
to the place where the wedding ceremony will be performed. Often
a seperate piece is used for the Bride's procession.
Interlude
Musical interludes can be used at different places in the ceremony
- between readings, as a musical reflection, or to accompany activities
like the lighting of candles and the signing of the register.
Recessional
The tone of this music is joyful and energetic. The vows are completed,
the legal documents are signed and the married couple is presented
to their community for the first time.
Postlude
This music follows the recessional, and accompanies the guests
as they leave. It can be longer if guests remain at the site of
the ceremony.
Additional musicians
Allegra Strings will add a singer or a trumpet player to the ceremony
if you wish. Please contact Allegra Strings
for more information.
